Game Log 1: Experience

I.  Game Title: The title of the game is "Grind the World".  From our initial discussions we decided to start making a game that revolved around the mechanic of grinding various objects. The objects would progressively get more bizarre, starting with an onion (for example), inspired by the first art piece shown to us from 1995 where two women grind various onions repeatedly despite being visible distressed.

II. Team Name: Shredders. The players keeps shredding different objects over time, and he/she gets the choice to sacrifice these different over time despite ethical and moral concerns to feed their insatiable curiosity. How fast can you lose your morals?

III.  Group Specifics: Daniel - Game Master (In charge of Sound Design + GameLogs / Victoria - Artist ( In charge of...) / Mikkel - Creator  (In charge of...) / Koysta - Creator (In charge of...)

1. Ideation Wheel & Capture Cards:

- We took inspiration from the first exhibit from the first room we visited. It was a video of two women grinding onions non-stop despite being visibly distressed and crying.

-  Our chosen European Value is: Freedom. It's always a great feeling to have the freedom to do anything we want (well most things). We wanted are game to reflect that value.

- Our group´s chosen game format is: Digital. We decided as a group to stick to a digital format given that it was what we were more familiar and comfortable with. We figured it was also the best alternative given the short time.

2. Experience Methods: Valuestorming / Pens, post-its & papers / Value-based game ideas / You need creative ideas about values and games.

3. First Idea (though culture:)

- It was stricking!! We decided it was a good idea to use the object of an onion as a starting point for our grinding game.

- N/a

4. First idea (for culture:)

-The game we are making is supposed to make you question your decisions in the game. You get the choice to grind the world...or not? How far are you willing to go, and what boundaries are you willing to cross?

- The players has the Freedom to do what he wants. He can keep grinding the world as far as he/she sees fit. There is nothing stopping him, nor enticing him except for his insatiable curiosity.

- The game will offer the player the freedom to explore his possibilities through a grinding mechanic.
